All About Youth Alpha! 31st August, 2006

The Milton Keynes Youth Alpha course is starting in September – but what is it all about?
What is it?
Youth Alpha is about you having a chance to find out who Jesus really is and how Christianity and real life fit together.
You get to ask the tough questions and chat through the issues you’ve always thought about, in a place where your views are respected. It’s also a great way to make new mates (and get some decent food too).
The whole thing runs over 10 weeks and includes a weekend or a day away in the middle. Each session looks at different issues to do with Christianity such as who Jesus is, what faith is all about, why people pray, and how God speaks to people today.
It’s a course that is being run all over the world with thousands of people every week! Make sure you’re not missing out.
Who’s it for?
Anyone aged 11-18 years old. The main deal is that if you are interested in getting some of life’s big questions sorted, and want to work out what you believe, then come along.
Benny’s Story
“I come from a Christian background, but I come from a little village in Dorset where the vast majority of the church are over 60. I’d heard about the Alpha course. I was quite interested and signed up.
On the first night, it was really nice coming into a friendly atmosphere – and I just kept coming. I’d always thought of Jesus as a kind of fairy-tale myth – not as a real person – but during the first few weeks of the course, I saw all the evidence for his having lived. It really brought it home to me. It was amazing. The people in my group had quite different backgrounds and there were many different perspectives, which was really useful. Jesus has made a real difference in my life. It is just knowing that there is someone who totally accepts me and who has created me. It has helped to understand people more and to understand their needs.”
